Glazed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Steamed Brussels Sprouts tossed with salty Bacon, and a Sweet and Tart Dijon-Brown Sugar Glaze. Topped with toasted Almonds.

Directions

  1. Steam Brussels sprouts in vegetable steamer until tender when pierced, about 15 to 20 minutes.

  2. Meanwhile, in a 10″ to 12″ frying pan, cook bacon until crisp. Remove and drain well.

  3. To the bacon drippings stir in vinegar, sugar, and dijon mustard. Cook over medium-high heat until bubbling vigorously.

  4. Add Brussels sprouts, and salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Remove to a serving dish and sprinkle with toasted almonds and reserved bacon pieces.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Brussels sprouts, trimmed

  • 2 bacon slices, diced

  • 2 Tbsp. cider vinegar

  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar

  • 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard

  • ¼ c. almonds, toasted, slivered

  • Salt and pepper, to taste
